The Stargate SG-1 Internet Guide

This reference book, created by fans for fans, ranked the Stargate SG-1 section of this site amongst the Top 150 Stargate websites on the internet in January 2000. I was surprised because I did not expect this site to make the listings at all. The guide was updated two years later in January 2002 and renamed to Stargate SG-1! The Best Websites and Factoids.

Sadly, these reference books are now out of date as the majority of the sites listed are either no longer around or no longer being updated. Plus, there are brand new sites that came on the scene after these guides were published.

Even though these guides are now out of print, I am still very happy that this website was mentioned on such an awesome list, no matter how many years ago it was.

Ultimate Sci-Fi/Fantasy Webring Award of Excellence

This website's very first award. It was received in the fall of 2000 and awarded by the Ultimate Sci-Fi/Fantasy Webring webmaster. This was when webrings were popular.

Before search engines finally got their act together, Webrings were how netizens found similar themed websites. In fact, this site was once a member of this webring and others. All the way up until Yahoo acquired WebRing.org through their acquisition of GeoCities and made changes that royally flocked up the system.

Anyway, it would seem a frequent visitor back in the early days of this site felt generous enough to nominate it for the award. And yes, I am still jumping up and down and doing little happy dances. I will always be appreciative of this award and forever grateful for the recommendation.
